At the Petersen book signing event on Saturday I was fortunate to be invited by Bruce Meyer (a Petersen Museum board member) to go to a car event with him on Sunday morning. Nothing would have stopped me from taking him up on this invitation.
Bruce drove his perfect Mercedes 300SL Gullwing and I was able to get a peek at some of his other fabulous cars. More on the other cars in later articles.
Here are some pictures of the 300SL Gullwing.
This 300SL really moves out – amazing performance for an early 1950′s car.
How many people have a Hot Wheels collection with their name on it?
Below my Bizzarrini GT 5300 was parked next to Bruce Meyer’s 300SL at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering in Carmel in 2009. This is the same Gullwing that I rode in on Sunday.
I cannot resist showing this picture of the first production AC Shelby Cobra – chassis number CSX 2001. There it is – just sitting there. Bruce was thinking about driving this instead of the 300SL, or maybe the Le Mans Corvette. I was happy either way.
