by Mike –

Like bird watchers searching for a glimpse of a rare bird-of-paradise car lovers always seek out the rare and exotic when we go to events like Monterey Car Week.

Here they are.

There were two Iso Grifos at the Gooding auction and one at the Bonhams auction – a little less than 1% of the Iso Grifos in existence.

This Iso Grifo sold for $368,500 USD at the Bonhams auction.

This 1972 Iso Grifo Series II sold at the Gooding auction for $511,500 USD.

  1. Hello Mike,

Your Iso Grifo was so splendid.
Yesterday,I saw an Iso Grifo GL 300 in Belgium.
My car specialist considered that the restoration cost will be around usd 120.000 .
Could you advice me about the acceptable price I could accept?
    Thanks a lot
    Best Regards
    Patrice

    • Patrice,

On this post above you see 3 different models of Grifo that sold at the recent auctions in Monterey with their sold prices.

The Hagerty price guide lists a series 1 small block Grifo at a value of $455k USD for a condition 1, $410K USD for a condition 2 and $352k USD for a condition 3.

This may help you decide what the Grifo in question is worth. Good luck.

  2. Wow — a fellow with a blue 7 litre Iso Grifo pulled into the shop last year and admitted that he was getting scared to drive it due to the high values. Now I see what he meant. Good summary, Mike — thanks.

  3. Nice to see the Iso info again on your site! I thought being that you are no longer a owner, that you would not mention Iso’s any longer. I think the Grifo prices will continue to appreciate into the future. I would love to buy a series 2 for under 400k, but this is looking less and less likely

    • Scotty,

Just because I sold my Isos and Bizzarrini and bought an AC Cobra and Lamborghini Espada does not mean I don’t still love Iso & Bizzarrini!

Who knows maybe I’ll get another someday?

      • I figured as much Mike. On the Iso’s is there that much of a difference between the Chevy motors and the Ford’s?

  4. Does the Iso community know who bought these?

  5. I believe some guy from Mass bought the red series 2. That car is truly a time capsule and I thought it would have sold for more. Also, with only 15k miles it is likely the lowest mileage series 2 in the world.
