There were 28 Maserati 300S race cars produced between 1955 and 1958. The engine is a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder with three Weber carburetors that produces 260 hp.
The light weight tubular chassis is covered by a beautiful aluminum body by Medardo Fantuzzi. It has alloy drum brakes and a DeDion type rear axle.
The race results were mixed but a 300S won at the Nurburgring and Buenos Aires in 1956.
This great example of a 1950s Maserati race car was at the Marin Sonoma Concours d’Elegance in 2010.
