Many American cars grew bigger in the 1960s compared to the 1950s model.
The early 1960s Ford Thunderbird was no exception. This one has the rare cowl over the back seats.
The Thunderbird was originally intended to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette but in the 1960s Ford seemed to have lost that ambition.
The Corvette remained a two seat sports car and the Thunderbird, well did not.
Corvette competition or not the Thunderbird still looked cool.
