This car has been for sale at Fantasy Junction in California for some time but now appears to be sold.
A friend of mine mentioned to me that he thought it had sold and when I went to the Fantasy Junction web site sure enough it is now listed in the sold section.
This is chassis number IA3*0329 and was completed construction in 1977 after the Bizzarrini car company went under. Although, it is believed that Giotto Bizzarrini did finish this car, the body appears to be by Diomante instead of Drogo.
The cross beam in front of the engine is not a standard Bizzarrini feature but it probably helps with racing performance. Notice this beam is running where the engine fan would normally be located.
I do not think the Bizzarrini needs the engine fan for cooling because of the fan location – sitting in the middle of the engine compartment. There are two electric fans in front of the radiator that keep the engine cool.
This car is set up for racing and I suspect it will make a great vintage race car. Hopefully, we will see it in Monterey later this year.
The last asking price published on the Fantasy Junction web site was $575,000, of course I do not know the actual selling price.
These pictures were taken at Fantasy Junction in June 2011. I also saw this car at Concorso Italiano in Monterey in 2010.
