This rusted out Iso Grifo finally sold on eBay for GBP 10,211.00 ($16,522.42). There were 11 bids.
It is not clear why the car was listed on the UK eBay site when it is located in the US.
This car is a 1967 Iso Grifo chassis number GL730143.
This is technically not a barn find because the car is sitting outside in the forest and no where near a barn, so I call it a Forest Find.
So what does one get for GBP 10,211.00 ($16,522.42) in the Iso Grifo world? Not an engine or transmission and it appears from the photos that none of the body panels are useful either.
So, if the chassis is usable then one gets a real Iso Grifo chassis with a real Iso Grifo serial number stamped into it.
This is not much different than the affordable Bizzarrini GT 5300 that recently sold at auction for CHF125,103 ($136,651). Of course the Bizzarrini is much more expensive but the Iso Grifo did not suffer from a fire as far as we know.
We have another restoration to look forward to in 2-3 years.
Imagine what these cars would be worth if they had been cared for properly.
Car collectors of the world let it be known another fake Bizzarrini is born. Move along nothing to see here.
