Iso Updates – Hot Off The Presses

I write frequently about Iso cars because I find them fascinating.

Here are some updates.

Today I visited the California Classics restoration shop owned by Charley Potts who is restoring Iso Grifo No. 009.

I drove my Grifo No. 0157 to Burlingame, California because Charley wanted to look at something on my car to aid in the restoration of Grifo No. 009.

We are all wondering if Grifo No. 009 will be ready for The Quail in about two weeks. I will publish more details in a couple of days, so stay tuned.

This is the first drive in my Grifo since the major engine rebuild. I have not mentioned a major engine rebuild on my Grifo before but it will be the subject of a future post after I figure out what all has been done.

The drive today was close to 50 miles round trip and all went well. My Grifo will be ready to drive to Monterey and attend The Quail in a couple of weeks.

Three Iso Grifos

What are the chances of standing anywhere in the world, excluding a special car show like The Quail, and being within 50 yards of three Iso Grifos? I do not know the answer but I think it is very small.

Today as I was looking over Grifo No. 009 I was told that the last Grifo made was a few yards away being detailed. I know this special Grifo is owned by Mike Hart a long time former editor of the Griffon, the magazine of the Iso & Bizzarrini Owner’s Club.

Then I look out the door and Mike Hart is inspecting my car in the parking lot!

We walked the few yards to see his beautiful Grifo series 2 with a Ford engine. The last Grifo made, No. 412, and the only Grifo made in 1974. It will be at The Quail too.

Two Isos For Sale and Sold!

Iso Rivolta IR 300 GT

This Iso Rivolta GT is for sale on eBay in Germany.

It appears to have sold for 27,750 Euros ($34,260). It seems the seller and buyer should be happy.

From the seller: “Foreign bidders welcome! ISO Rivolta IR 300 2-doors, V-8 cylinder, red / dark brown leather, Tires 215/70 ZR 15, 300 SAE hp, engine capacity 5354 cc, Automatic Built 06.06.1969. Delivered probably to Switzerland. From 1974 to 2002 in Norway, two known owner. From 2002 in Germany, two known owner.

This seller is also selling the Iso Fidia below and the Iso Grifo for sale listed on the My Car Quest Classifieds.

Iso Rivolta Fidia

This Iso Fidia is for sale on eBay in Germany.

It appears to have sold for 17,050 Euros ($21,000). This seems like a good deal because I am sure the buyer will spend a little money getting this car correct but not much.

The seller says “4-doors, V-8 cylinder, blau / blue leather, Tires 215/70 ZR 15, in reg. document: 177 KW and engine capacity 5303 cc, Automatic, power steering, No. 127 of 192”

There are a few items that need attention on this Fidia but not much. This could be a good buy for someone who wants a Fidia.
