The big event for me today was the Carmel Concours on the Avenue.
Carmel-by-the-Sea closes down the main drag, Ocean Avenue, for several blocks for this event.
This is a great idea – all cities should do this once a year, especially if they could attract beautiful classic cars like these.
The Best Iso Grifo In North America That Will Not Be At The Quail On Friday
I was stunned to see this 1971 Iso Grifo Can Am on Ocean Avenue today. I thought all Iso cars in the area would be at The Quail, A Motor Sport Gathering on Friday.
This beautiful silver with black interior Grifo is one of the rare Can Am models, only 24 were made. It is owned by Jeff and Heidi Abramson.
Jeff also races at Laguna Seca this weekend and his practice times made it impossible to bring this Grifo to The Quail – a shame for all Quail attendees.
This Grifo has an interesting history and I expect to write more in the future – watch this space.
Here are some other cars that caught my eye today.
I love a good, original hot rod.
This may be the nicest Lamborghini 350GT that I have ever seen. I am not sure that the interior is an original color but it sure looks good.
I do not know about this Porsche but it is special with the mini gull wing doors.
This is a real NART Spider.
There were many Shelby Cobras here today but I loved this green one.
There were also many Porsche race cars – they all were beautiful.
This car has George Follmer’s name on it – that is special.
This transporter is being auctioned by RM this week.
This color must distract the other race drivers.
I want one of these but a 1965 model.
This is a normal street scene in Carmel during Monterey Car Week.

BEAUTIFUL. My buddy Bruce is there with his Vignale that my grandfather made. My grandfather was Bill Frick.
