Beautiful Cars, Beautiful People And Beautiful Days

by Mike –

I love it when readers send in photos about events that I did not attend. Here are three such events.

The Millenáris Velodrom in Budapest, Hungary

Last year Gábor Vida introduced us to this event here – Classic Cars At The Millenáris Velodrom.

Gábor recently sent in photos of this years beautiful cars and the beautiful people enjoying these cars along with the great weather in Budapest.

Not a car but it still looks like fun.

Red is a great color.

Iso Cars From Germany In California

At The Quail, A Motor Sport Gathering this year in Carmel, California there were four Iso cars brought over from Germany. Jürgen Wilms told us all about it in this post – The German Owner Iso Tour Of California.

He sent in these additional photos below of the four beautiful Isos in the California sunshine.

Iso Grifo 7 Liter

Iso Lele

1973 Iso Lele Owned by Armin Paprzycki

 Iso Rivolta GT

1966 Iso Rivolta GT Owned by Lutz Hegewald

Don’t these cars look great in California? Maybe some of them should have stayed here after all there are many more Isos in Germany than in California.

The Salon Privé In England

Chris Lackner wrote about this event here – Bizzarrini Grifo GT 5300 At The Salon Privé In England.

Jonathan Root the owner of the special and green De Tomaso Mangusta sent in these additional photos of the event.

I am a huge fan of green cars (although I have never owned a green car) and Lamborghini has a history of making exceptional green cars.

However, I like this green Mangusta better than this green Miura.

Rosie Kidston Wearing a Stephen Jones:Giles Deacon Helmet at Salon Prive ‘Ladies Day’ With Jonathan Root’s Mangusta

I want to know more about this helmet and I think we would all like to see Rosie Kidston without the helmet.

Since I did not have an event to attend today I took the Iso Grifo (below) out for a drive and I feel much better.

Comments

  1. As an aside, the lady owner of the green Miura at Salon Privé (once owned by Twiggy’s boyfriend) also owns a Grifo!
It is chassis #166/D, and was the 1967 London Show car, is maroon with cream interior, and currently sits on Borrani wires instead of the original Campagnolos. Jane once told me that of all her 30-odd cars, she enjoys driving the Grifo best. It is one of 4 Grifos featured in the current (October) Classic & Sports Car magazine. Incidentally, I’ve just heard a rumour that we may have an Iso on the front cover of Issue #203 of Auto Italia. That’s about 3 months away.

  2. Thanks for the info Chris – I can’t get enough news about Iso and Iso Grifo.

  3. You might have a free ride.

  4. Ha! – thank you. I will contact this person and let him know where the picture came from.
