A Fine Day At The Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance

by Mike –

Yesterday I spent an excellent afternoon with a friend browsing the Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance. For the first time in a few years I did not take a car for display. My Bizzarrini GT 5300 won the Owner’s Choice Award at this event in 2011.

At 58 consecutive years this is the longest continuously running Concours d’Elegance in the world.

Here are some eye catchers.

The Maserati 200SI race car is one of the most beautiful of race cars if not the most successful.

A car company has to be supremely confident to name a model “Superfast”. Supremely confident seems to be part of the DNA of Ferrari.

Last year I drove the Bizzarrini GT 5300 to this event and arranged to be placed next to Iso Grifo No. 009 – both Class Winners at The Quail, A Motor Sport Gathering in August 2012.

This year was a little more relaxing and we could come and go as we pleased without the responsibility of a car on display. I am glad that many others were happy to take on that responsibility.
