The one-of-a-kind Iso Rivolta GT Prototype has sold on My Car Quest.
by Mike –
This is a unique Iso – the oldest Iso GT car and the only surviving Iso Rivolta GT Prototype.
This Iso Rivolta No. 002 is the original vision of what Giorgetto Giugiaro had in mind when he penned this beauty for Renzo Rivolta.
The Grifo and Bizzarrini GT 5300 were both built on a shortened Iso Rivolta chassis so this only surviving Rivolta prototype is also the chassis prototype for the Grifo and Bizzarrini GT 5300.
There was a brake heating problem on the rear in-board disc brakes on the Rivolta prototype No. 001 (which no longer exists) so the Iso engineers and Giotto Bizzarrini added the air vents shown below which exhaust air from the in-board disc brakes allowing better cooling of the brakes.
This is the only Iso Rivolta with the brake exhaust vents in this location because on the production version Iso placed the air exhaust vents on the lower portion of the C pillars.
Iso also added air funnels under the car in front of the rear brakes to force air flow over the brakes. You can see those funnels on Grifos and on Bizzarrini GT 5300s.
The air exhaust vents can be seen on the C pillars of the production Iso Rivolta below but not on the prototype in the next photo below.

Congrats, Mike!

Any chance we will hear what the prototype sold for?
“Larger than a bread basket?”
I am sure owners like my self, Rivolta #051 & #252, would like to know.

Sorry, I do not share the sales price.
Why not reprise the Intermeccanica Italia
as the “E=TALIA” with a Tesla P100D drivetrain?
Or, revise/reprise the Cheetah, with same d’train?
