Here is my pick for the classic car for sale today that I would like to own. The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR is a race car made street legal. Engineered by AMG it was intended for racing in the new FIA GT Championship series in 1997.

The CLK GTR was designed as a race car, with the road cars produced only to meet homologation requirements.

AMG won the FIA GT championship with the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR racing sports prototype, so this car has a serious racing heritage.

This model was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz CLR Le Mans prototype in 1999.

Wow, for the price of a Bugatti Veyron you can get a much more rare super car. I wonder what a tune up costs? I know if I have to ask that question then I cannot afford it. But I can still dream about it right?

I also wonder what this car has been doing for the past 11 years with only 70 miles on the odometer?

This will be a future classic super car that will be highly sought after because there are only six to go around and the heritage is fantastic. Although there are an additional 19 coupes the roadster will always be special.

This Mercedes could be in the same collector category as the McLaren F1 someday. They both have racing success and there were much fewer of the Mercedes made than the McLaren F1. The McLaren has a cult like following but not everyone who wants one can have one so some of those collectors may turn to this Mercedes as a viable alternative.
