Here is my pick for the classic car for sale today that I would like to own. The Iso Grifo A3/C Race Car is a very rare car and this one is well known in the Iso Bizzarrini Owner’s Club.
1964 Iso Grifo A3/C ‘7,000 rivet’ Competition Berlinetta
The seller says:
* Genuine factory built racer with period international history
* Believed to be one of three surviving ‘7,000 rivet’ alloy bodied cars
* Abundant power, voluptuous styling and well balanced handling
* A potential front-runner for the Goodwood TT and other world class events
* Chassis No. B0202
I am surprised that this special Iso Grifo A3/C Race Car is for sale again so soon after leaving Southern California for the UK in 2010. The seller explains this is the text describing the car but still it is a surprise.
Chassis No. B0202 is the second Iso Grifo A3/C made and this design led to the Bizzarrini GT 5300, so it can be considered the second of that lineage too.
I saw this car in person at the Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance in 2009 where these photos and the video were taken.
This special Iso Grifo A3/C Race Car is for sale here. “Price on request” usually means it is expensive as this Iso Grifo should be.
There is no question about the provenance of this special Iso Grifo but I do think that there are more than “three surviving ‘7,000 rivet’ alloy bodied cars”. But I could be wrong, it has happened before.
