where would one get the glass?

There is a firm in Orange County called Metalcrafters. They make prototypes for carmakers. They have a machine
that only needs the measurements and it will make a windscreen. Of course it may not meet DOT standards but since it’s only prototype that doesn’t matter. I might cost several thousand but hey, even a stock windshield for a race car can cost a $1000. Try them and see, they may go months without using the machine.

This is actually not a body but whats known as a plug. It is what is used to make a mold with. One of the giveaways are those two big posts that are laminated in the center, this is to keep the roof rigid while the fiberglass is being laminated over it.. Plugs and molds use tooling resin because it’s strong and rigid….but heavy. So to get a body you would have to make a mold using gelcoat as your first layer, then multiple layers of glass, once this is done with the glass still on the plug you laminate stiffeners, they’re made out of plywood or more fiberglass, once the stiffeners are laminated on you can pull the molds off, reassemble the mould and start the process over again using gelcoat and then glass. After thats done you can pop the body out of the mold.
