Hello Mike,

Here are pictures of my 1953 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe Straight Eight Convertible with the Dual Streak Indian Head on the hood. The amber head is illuminated when the lights are on!

The first picture was taken last Summer when participating in a Rotary car rally in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

I have owned this car since 1986. Finding and buying it was a boy’s dream come true. The car is assembled at GM France S.A. in Paris. It was driven most of its life in the South of France and sold and exported to the Netherlands in the early eighties.

Kind regards,

Tim Koster

Hello , I owned a Pontiac Chieftain 1953 convertible straight eight in France between 1970 and 1980 and then sold it to a
Dutchman who took it to Holland . It had a metal plate under the bonnet with GM France etc and had been very slightly altered to French specifications ; amber head removed , yellow headlamps extra reflectors at the rear.It was imported amongst three others (one of which was a six cylinder)into France by a Canadian diplomat then sold to an Australian then on to another Canadian. It ran on diplomatic plates until I bought it.It was dark metallic green and in need of bodywork restauration , the engine was ok and seemed indestructible. These cars were never assembled in France I am sorry to say .I and the chidren of the first owner would be interested to know if Mr Tim Koster ‘s model is the same car . It looks probable .Thankyou for your attention .
