Monterey Car Week is ten weeks from now but there are already several great looking cars slated for auction. Here are some I will be watching.
1954 Ferrari 375 MM Spider By Pinin Farina, Chassis No. 0362AM – at Mecum
Mecum says,
Designed purely for the rigors of endurance racing, the Ferrari 375 Mille Miglia also furthered Ferrari’s reputation for building superb dual purpose sports machines while establishing Pinin Farina as Ferrari’s coachbuilder of choice. The 375 MM first appeared at the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans. Fundamentally it combined a 340 MM chassis with the 4.5 L/340 HP V-12 developed for the stillborn Indianapolis 500 project. Weighing in at just 2,000 pounds, the 375 MM in Berlinetta form set a lap record at the Sarthe that year before retiring. Later that same year another 375 MM took fourth place in Mexico’s Carrera Panamericana, sealing the first of Ferrari’s many Manufacturers World Championships.
I say this is one of the best looking Ferraris made.
1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Touring – at Mecum
Mecum says,

– In the standard volume Carrera RS by Thomas Gruber and George Konradsheim it is noted that #1222 eventually became part of a collection in Mexico before coming to the US
– Retains its original orange-bar hood crest and unmarked brightwork
– Fuchs wheels and Dunlop tires
– Factory issued Certificate of Authenticity
I say that I have wanted one of these for years but they always seem to be beyond my price.

I say remember when the DB6 was an affordable option to a DB5? Not any more the DB6 may be less expensive than a DB5 but it is no longer affordable for most collectors.
