Every year on the Thursday of Monterey Car Week many of the cars scheduled to be on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance participate in the Tour d’Elegance where they take a drive from Pebble Beach to Big Sur and eventually make a stop in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea which is where I catch up with them.

The Pebble Beach web site says this,
The traditional Tour traces portions of the original 17-Mile Drive, traverses nearby mountains and valleys, and pauses for a time in charming Carmel-by-the-Sea.
