On Thursday 19 November 2015 the Keno Brothers held their first Fine Automobile Auction, Rolling Sculpture, in New York. I wrote about the results recently.
Some regular My Car Quest readers were surprised when I did not mention the results for the Iso Grifo at this auction. I have written about this Iso Grifo No. 009 on many occasions.
I almost bought this Grifo in 2006 from long time owner Bob Evans of Pasadena, California when it was silver. I decided not to buy and it was later bought by the current owner who lives close by. He commissioned a complete restoration, which I followed, and when asked provided advice, access to my Iso documents and my Grifo. I also provided some minor parts.
The estimate was $550,000 – $650,000 and it did not sell at a high bid of $460,000.

The dent on the front fender was caused by an incident in a parking garage while driven by Bob Evans, the owner, during our test drive in 2006.

This Grifo does not have the air vent on the top left fender to match the gas tank filler opening on the right fender. The gas filler cap lid does not have air vents, both are rare features.
