Perfect weather and hot coffee greeted the drivers that brought their performance cars to Fontana California for the Fasttoysclub track event on January 18th 2018.
This first of the new year event was focused on training and most of the drivers used the instructors provided.
If you are learning to drive your supercar faster or just clearing out the carbon in your carbs (do they still need to do that?) it was a perfect day for driving. Sunny and clear, not a cloud in the sky and the track was in perfect condition.
Sports car enthusuasts in Southern California can run the roval (road course and oval combination) track a few times a year in a slew of events ranging from Ferrari only gatherings to cars on the cheap called ‘chump car races’ (a reference to champ cars but the cars aren’t supposed to cost over $5000 total) and everything in-between. The in-between can include events that are brand specific track days combined with festivities that can cover the full weekend such as the Bimmerfest.
The internet is a very good way to keep track of events and you have to check regularly because there isn’t always a lot of notice.
Enjoy these pictures and have a fun new year.
