Park City Cars & Coffee

Lancaster Cars and Coffee

by Don Meluzio –

On a very chilly day, my son and I took off to a Cars & Coffee in nearby Lancaster, Pa. It was 53 Degrees and a little breezy, brrr. That didn’t seem to keep people at home for a good car show. There were a couple of specific groups that came together. Those of you who remember any of my articles know that I am an Abarth guy. Well, there was quite a group of modern Abarths. One car really stood out, it was a highly modified track event car. The fellow had purchased a lot of his Hypo parts from my friend Bob Zecca who is the king of Performance Fiat 500s.

A bunch of these guys rode together to the event. It was quite a group of Cinquecentos! (500s). It would also lead you to believe that they only build them in Red or White. Actually the last two white cars were a husband and wife team!

How about an Australian right hand drive Plymouth Valiant with an inline six (I have no idea what brand) with monster Weber Carbs!

  1. Wow! Awesome show!
What is that mounted on the hood of the white Abarth?
    Thanks for posting.

That car was super cool. They are removeable hood mounted LED rally lights. There was so much cool variety there. A group of Lamborghinis were parked together and then across from them was 3 Hummers. To me that is the beauty of Cars and Coffee. Such fun variety and enthusists.

  2. That right hand drive Plymouth Valiant is definitely a rare bird in Lancaster! The VW fat Dodi the “coolest” for sure

  3. Marc Haller says

The inline 6-cylinder engine in that Australian Chrysler Valiant is the original Chrysler engine. Their 6 didn’t “slant”.

  4. Derek Meluzio says

Lancaster Cars and Coffee is a great group. Not only do they bring together great cars and vehicle owners but they also raise money for lots of different charities. This event benefited Toys for Tots.

This kind of variety is the car show spice of life and also one of the reasons why I love Mike’s My Car Quest site so much. He covers and highlights and loves everything with wheels!

  5. Wayne Watkins says

In Australia we did have slant 6’s in what were called Chrysler Valiant cars , but this Pacer is a VG E34 model from 1970/71 with a 245 hemi engine with the three Weber carb set up from the later model RT E49 Charger . This Pacer only had a 3 speed floor shift whereas the E49 had a 4 speed . The E49 was the fastest production 6 cylinder car in the world at that time . It appears to have the front plate from Victoria still fitted .

  6. Thank you for taking the time to check out our cars and write this article.

  7. The VW Rat Rod is my car.
