Tuesday August 10, 2021 was an almost pre-covid normal-like day. There were many beautiful cars on Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea like always on this day (except for last year). My friend Tom and I arrived early even before many of the cars were there.
This year there were COVID-19 protocols in place as follows.
To attend the event, you must present at entry one of the following:
Vaccination card showing yourself as being fully vaccinated.
– OR –
Negative COVID-19 test no more than 3 days before event attendance. Either of the above will entitle you to a wrist band for the day and you will not be required to wear a mask!
In the absence of a Vaccination card or Negative COVID-19 tests, you will be required to wear a mask during your entire visit covering your mouth and nose using your own mask or we’ll be happy to provide you with a mask.
Other than these new rules and the more than I remember number of attendees it was a normal day in Carmel on Carmel Concours day. By 11:00 AM or so it was difficult to get a clear view of any car without someone or many someones blocking the view and the photo. But it was a great day with excellent weather and scenery.
I did notice that there were fewer non-English languages being spoken as in years past where the attendees included many visitors from outside the US.
It was great to see this event get back to almost normal – here are some of my photos from the day.
More photos are in the slide show below.

Amazing cars. Stunning. Not to quibble, but I believe last picture is a Capri, not a Cortina.
E55,
Thank you for the correction. I made the change.
Great pictures.
Glad to see the automotive community participating in safety protocols
Thanks for what you do
