Jay Leno is being treated at the Grossman Burn Center after his face was burned in his Los Angeles garage.
George Swift, a longtime employee and friend of Leno, gave Access Hollywood an update on Leno, he was working on “a steam car where the steam is made by gas and he got sprayed by some gas and it ignited”.
Leno, 72, said “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
This is good news to hear he is going to recover but I am very sorry this happened to one of the great car guys. I am sure when Leno gets back to his TV show, “Jay Leno’s Garage”, we will hear his account of the incident and I suspect he will give us some advice on how to avoid this type of accident.
I did not know that steam cars used gasoline. It certainly could have been worse.
