Astons on the Avenue is one of the new events that I attended this year during Monterey Car Week. I did not take my Aston Martin Vanquish (maybe next year) – this year I just admired the other Aston Martins there. Anything that happens on Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea is good with me.
This event is free to spectators who get to walk along Ocean Avenue without the worry of traffic because the road is closed off. Yet all the restaurants and stores are open. It was a great day with great cars on display.
I hope you enjoy my photos.

Celebrate British Engineering
Set against the stunning backdrop of Carmel-by-the-Sea’s Ocean Avenue during Car Week, this event showcases the finest Aston Martins of all makes and models, epitomizing automotive excellence. Whether you’re a collector, enthusiast, or simply appreciate British engineering, “Astons on the Avenue” has something extraordinary for everyone.
More photos are in the two slide shows below.
Mike, thanks for getting the word out. This looks like lots of fun, and adds one more event (I now count 4, including Prancing Ponies, Ferrari, and Concours for a Cause) to the downtown Carmel car scene, which seems to be coming back to life.
I think parking is a problem. There should be remote lot space set aside and free buses back and forth. After all those tourists come with lots of spending money.
what day of the week was this on?
Wednesday
Hi Mike, I just found this My Car Quest in my spam folder. Sort of ironic as it’s never happened before and yet you took a photo of my Aston, the green 1971 DBS V8.
Lots of great cars that day but only 5 vintage Astons out of the 34 Astons displayed. The spectators were very engaging and, of course, among them many knowledgeable car enthusiasts given the ongoing events. I look forward to attending next year.
Philip, I loved your DBS. I did notice the number of new Astons compared to older ones.
