This is a three day event that is always my first stop during Car Week. This year the days and hours are:
MONDAY, August 14, 2023: 10 am to 6 pm
TUESDAY, August 15, 2023: 10 am to 6 pm
WEDNESDAY, August 16, 2023: 10am to 4 pm
All during Monterey Car Week.
It takes place in the Ballroom of The Embassy Suites, located on US 1, just north of 68 with easy access and free parking. It’s actually in Seaside but on the Peninsula.
The show was started by Tony Singer who has one of the largest booths, selling classic racing posters. Expect a sculptor or two and if you’re a book aficionado there’s Horton’s Books, a book dealer from the UK who always has the latest in car books and has a whole corner for their wares.
If you like original sales brochures this show has some of the best, especially in Ferrari and Porsche.
I was happy to see a local artist James Caldwell, progress through the last few years to become an important automotive artist.
Tony Singer says only original posters, photographs, rallye plates, badges & pins, mascots & hood ornaments, signs, original art, desk & display pieces, scale models, literature & books, signed items, poster stamps, post cards, mosaics, unique scarves/ties, and the like are offered. “NO reproductions will be sold,” he says.
