The Silicon Valley International Auto Show is held at the San Jose (California) Convention Center every year about this time. I go every year because going to Los Angeles, Detroit or Geneva is a lot of trouble.
I rarely write about new cars, as you all know, but I am making an exception today because I loved some of the models that I saw this year.
While I am not really interested in Dodge Ram Pick-Up trucks Esmeralda De Pal, above, was helpful in sending me on my way.
Here are my favorite models without the benefit of a test drive or any kind of exhaustive research that you will find on other car sites with big budgets and dozens of people to do this stuff.
This is what I liked.
Four passenger adult car – Dodge Charger
There are times that I wish I had an exciting car that can hold four adults. Maybe this is it? I fit comfortably in both the front and the back seats! The front seat is really all that matters.
Pure sports car – Jaguar F-Type V8
This Jaguar could give Aston Martin and Porsche some competition. This is the best looking Jaguar I have seen in years and the 495 hp supercharged V8 should move it along quickly.
Even though I was not interested in Jeeps this Jeep representative was quite helpful.
American muscle car – Dodge Challenger
I have always thought that the Dodge Challenger was the best of all of the retro-American Muscle car designs. I think this without the benefit of a test drive or detailed research.
Small and sporty – Fiat 500 Abarth
Even I look sophisticated in the Fiat Abarth.
Modern exotics
Then there was the modern exotic section. This just isn’t my bag baby (think how Austin Powers would say this).

It’s a small world, Mike. The girl in your first picture, Esmeralda de Pal, is a good personal friend of mine (not car related) and I can check with her just how sophisticated you were there. (If there were any “irregularities” I’m sure I can post them here?) LOL!
But it’s obvious not only “classics” are interesting, you also feel at home between the newer models!
Maurice Mentens
Maurice,
I love all the models not just the classics. Esmeralda was a sweet person! What a surprise you know her.
My vote is for the exotics model! The car in the background looks interesting also.
DAMN!!! It must be rough being Mike Gulett international man of mystery and world class blogger. “Yeah, baby!”.
Did any of them offer you a Dos Equis?
