It sold for 536,400 Euros ($729,195 US) (this includes the buyers commission). The estimate was 450,000 – 550,000 Euros. This is the second highest price paid for a Bizzarrini GT 5300 at auction.

The auction company said it was sold to a South African collector.

I wrote briefly about this Bizzarrini before the auction, where I reported that it had been badly damaged years ago and the bumpers had been separated from the car.

It appears that at least one buyer agreed with my conclusion,

Assuming one can get comfortable with the history and the condition, all the items that I mention can be corrected with a little money and talent. There may be other items of concern not visible in the photos – but how often do you see a real Bizzarrini GT 5300 for sale?

  1. This price is low for a good one. The Bizzarrini price has followed but caught up with Gull Wing and Lusso prices for 49 years.

  2. Glenn Rudner says

I looked at the car prior to the auction-it was a mediocre driver with needs at its very best.
