Michigan is the center of car making for the USA – yet there are plenty of great Italian cars around Michigan too.
Here are some photos sent in by Don Meluzio, who owns the blue Bizzarrini Spyder, yet he sent in a few photos from the Italian Happening 2015 which is part of the Concours weekend where the Concours d’Elegance of America at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan is held.
The Italian Happening Slide Show
The three Bizzarrini Spyders were at the Concours d’Elegance of America and My Car Quest reader Richard Flasck sent in Bizzarrini photos. Mark Sassak owns both the silver Bizzarrini Prototype Spyder and the red Bizzarrini Spyder. How great is that?
My thanks to both Don and Richard for the photos.
Great pics but I spot an intruder! The orange car in the first photo is my Mitsubishi Colt Galant GTO MR. It was part of the early Japanese sports car class at the concours on Sunday. A little solace can be found in the bluish silver car behind it even though it is also a Japaness car. It is a very rare Hino Contessa 1300 Coupe which was designed by the great Italian designer Michelotti.
Well, obviously I clicked send one too many times ,BUT the good news is we got to see Myron Vernis’s Mitsubishi Colt Galant! Let me first say I have been a Mitsubishi Dealer since 1989.so I am a little prejudiced toward all things Mitsubishi. Myrons car was on the Concours of America show field, and I thought it was one of the coolest cars at the Event. It is probably the ultimate Mitsubishi Performance model of its day. It is the Grand Daddy of the Lancer Evolution. Who knew they used the “MR” designation 40 years ago. For those of you that don’t know, Myron has an incredible collection of VERY interesting cars. Congratulations Myron!
Wow some really stunning cars here. Still gotta say that some of the older models definitely hold more prestige and dominance than some of the newer models.
