It can be done. Ferrari has a special group that listens to customers who want a car built to their order.
Here’s one built back in 2012 for musician Eric Clapton.
Officially it was the Ferrari SP12 EC -the “EC” for his initials – and was designed by the Centro Stile Ferrari though they still called upon Pininfarina even though that carrozzeria was being phased out of designing all the Ferraris, which they did for decades.
Clapton had previously owned a Ferrari 512 BB. Actually three of them. But he wanted a new Ferrari with that look. Alas, no flat 12 in this one but the 4.5-litre, 570bhp V8 was no slouch and reportedly it would do 202 mph.
Somewhere in the publicity it was mentioned that it cost $4 million. Hey, that’s not too much to be a part of history!
While researching this we found an old picture of him with a SWB 250 GT so apparently his Ferrari passion goes back to ’60s models.
Let us know what you think in the Comments about the Ferrari SP12 EC.
