It is fitting that the Petersen Automotive Museum will be having not one but two Shelby events early in the year 2019 because Robert E. Petersen, founder of Petersen Publishing, with his magazines like Motor Trend and Sports Car Graphic, actually gave Shelby the publicity he needed to go from a mere dreamer to being a world famous automaker.
In celebration of Carroll Shelby’s legacy and his contributions to automotive engineering and motorsports in-whole, the Petersen will be hosting an exclusive two day event featuring what they call “a once-in-a-lifetime” panel discussion of legendary drivers, a Forza driving competition and live entertainment. The following day, the museum will host one of the largest Shelby cruise-ins in the U.S. with more than 400 Mustangs and Cobras expected.
If you decide to go to the VIP event Jan. 5th, Saturday, from 7 to 10 pm you receive:
– Limited lounge access
– Network with speakers and other VIP’s
– Elevated seating area
– Dedicated bar and food station
– VIP treatments
There will be a panel discussion at this event featuring former Shelby employees and
race drivers.
CRUISE-IN
The Cruise-In on Sunday runs from 9 am to 11 am They would like an RSVP for this as well.
That event includes complimentary parking, coffee, bagels, and the morning will end with an award ceremony.
More information can be found at either event at the Petersen web site:
