After writing about the Car of the Day, a beautiful fully restored 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 that is up for auction by Bonhams, I started looking through my photo files and found this really special unrestored 1966 Lamborghini Miura P400 that was at Amelia Island this year.
This Miura is the second Miura prototype built, VIN 0706, and was displayed at the 1966 Paris Salon art exhibit. It was then bought new by J.W. Marriott and has been in the Marriott family ever since.
The owner claims this is the oldest Miura in existence. It is in spectacular condition and has a terrific color combination that I have never seen before.

Mike, reading your article I just had a thought: How wonderful it was in the past when one could travel to a European car show and purchase something right off the show stand, import it into US and register it without any hassles. What truly wonderful times those were…
