Today is traditionally the first real day of Monterey Car Week with the Carmel Concours On The Avenue held in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Today we reach back into the My Car Quest archives and re-post Carmel Concours On The Avenue – 2015 to help us get through.
This is the twelfth of the My Car Quest Archives Series.
I do hope you all are staying safe and healthy and that you enjoy these flashbacks.

Today was the Carmel Concours on the Avenue in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. This is the beginning of Monterey Car Week.
You will see some water on the ground – yes it did rain in downtown Carmel last night. Here are some of my photos from the day. I was there for several hours and had a great time meeting new people and connecting with old friends. I will publish more later, now it is time for dinner.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the pictures, on behalf of all that cannot be there in person!
Great cars and thanks for sharing Mike! I hope your having a good week.
Thanks, Mike ! On behalf of all those who can’t be there! Do you have archives for the past 20 years?
Hi, Mike,
What is the interesting red car, whose posterior is shown in Slide #10. It has a large wraparound rear glass, almost like a fastback, and an interesting taillight configuration? I don’t recall ever seeing a car like this, even in pictures, so I would be interested in knowing its make, model, and year. Thanks for the wonderful pictures, and the great stories about cars. I always end up smarter about cars after reading My Car Quest. Glenn in the Bronx, NY.
Glenn, That is a Dual Ghia. I do not know the year.
Mike and Glenn
The red car you are referring to is actually and L6-4 Ghia. It was the predecessor to the Dual Ghia.
Great shots of what has to be the beginning of another incredible week Mike!!..
Randy, Thanks for the correction.
Slap that boy Randy on the back of the hand with a steel edged ruler! Randy I know you meant to say the 6.4 came after the Dual Ghias. Too bad it looks like Chrysler designed it But Frank Sinatra bought one anyhow. , and I think Lucille Ball.
http://www.carstyling.ru › car says:
“1961-1963 Ghia L.6.4 (Dual-Ghia Coupe) … Twice as costly as its predecessor and faster but softer riding, with handling not as taut as that of the earlier cars. … the project, and Casaroll called it quits after a mere handful of cars were built.”
