Dear Mike,
Thank you for bringing the sale of the Iso Grifo #001 at a Coys auction to my attention. If they claim that this Grifo is the prototype Grifo A3/L which inspired the Grifo GL production car, that is wrong and false.
The Grifo A3/L had different proportions because the engine was in a different position than the production car and the front part of the car was longer and different.
This Grifo looks like a normal production GL type with a small block Chevrolet engine, short nose. I believe it was built in the period when the bodies were still done by Bertone, before we took the production into our plant.
With some more interior shots perhaps we could determine the production year. By the way, the chassis number story is quite unique!
