Our erstwhile correspondent from Los Angeles, Wallace Wyss, who is an artist as well, will be hosting his own art tent at Concorso Italiano and invites readers of My Car Quest to drop by and say hello.
He’s also planning on entering four canvases in Mecum’s Monterey Auction as a set of four in one lot, at No Reserve. They will be on display at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel starting Aug. 17th.

Dino 246GTS “This was in an auction setting. “Love the car, can’t see why it’s worth more than a V12.”
Ferrari 365 GTB/4 – Daytona Euro Spec Coupe “At first there was no American spec. model so gray market ones came in and conversion shops sprang up to convert them. Now I think the fixed-in-place lens models have more cachet.”
Ferrari P3/4 “The ultimate in ’60s Ferrari race cars. An exotic but purposeful shape. So few were built but at Daytona they blew off the Ford GTs.”
Wyss adds “The Mecum works can also be bid on remotely. Just go to the Mecum website.”
Wyss’ 100 art works will be in a booth at Concorso Italiano at the Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside August 19th. If you can’t make Concorso, he promises a private viewing can be arranged from Thursday through Sunday at a Monterey area restaurant–just text him at 213-344-6496.
